🌟 Help Save Infinity Room: A Call to Our Community 🌟
Dear Salem community members and supporters of live performing arts,
We are reaching out to you with a heartfelt plea to help preserve a vital cultural hub in our city: Infinity Room. This vibrant, homegrown venue has been a cornerstone of our community, bringing joy and laughter through comedy, music, improv, and drag performances.Â
However, like many small businesses, Infinity Room faces a critical financial challenge. It’s a struggle to compete with the call of the outdoors to Oregonians (ourselves included) during Oregon’s gorgeous summers. This makes the hottest part of the year our toughest time to survive. Operating costs and unforeseen expenses, combined with a slowdown of income, have pushed us to a point where we need immediate assistance to keep our doors open and our stage alive.
As a newer business, we know that as we become more established every year (as we have been; this time last year we were markedly less financially stable than even now), we will be better able to prepare for the lean months – but this year, between expenses and inflation, it just isn’t in the cards. This is where you come in: we are calling upon our beloved community for a much needed hand.
Why Infinity Room Matters:
Cultural Hub: It’s more than just a venue; it’s a place where creativity flourishes and artists thrive. Our performer-run events calendar focuses on bringing a variety of voices to the stage so that Salem audiences of all varieties can see themselves represented on stage and hear from performers from all walks of life.Â
Community Space: There is no shared experience quite like live performance. The immediacy of the emotional connections between performer and audience; the role in a community of a place you know you can always go for something fun and exciting – that’s what we are proud to foster at Infinity Room. We also offer classes and events meant to give creatives and performers the opportunity to learn, thrive, and create community. Additionally, we have held a number of events to give back to our local and national community, including fundraisers for Capital Pride, Rainbow Youth, Friends of the Salem Public Library and the National Network of Abortion Funds.
Local & National Talent: Local comedians, musicians, drag artists and performers need a nurturing environment where they can showcase their talents and find a supportive platform for their art. We also offer the chance for local performers to share a stage with nationally and internationally touring performers, creating opportunities for learning and community building. We pride ourselves on bringing talent from all over the world to a stage that many performers have called their favorite in the entire Pacific Northwest.
Plant-Based Menu: We offer a fully vegan menu that is delicious to more than just vegans. We have specifically crafted our new menu to appeal to omnivores so that everyone can enjoy the chance to try something new and delectable.
Our Goal: We are aiming to raise $5,000 in the next week to cover urgent expenses and ensure that Infinity Room can continue to be a beacon of creativity and entertainment in Salem. Every dollar counts and your support will make a significant difference.
